Here are some facts about me which might tell you more:
-
My name AGNI-eszka means fire in Sanskrit. Agni is a fire God of Hinduism, second only to Indra in the Vedic mythology of ancient India. Agni is also the fire in the body. Yet my name, Agnieszka, is very plain and ordinary where I come from (Poland). It only started to have meaning once I found my true calling in a different part of the world. Coincidence?
-
My primary Ayurvedic dosha is also fire :)
-
My motto has always been "keep your face towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you" by Walt Whitman.
-
The plants in my logo represent the most used Ayurvedic herbs: shatavari, ashwagandha and coriander.
-
I initiated my motherhood journey in a beautiful, planned, unmedicated water birth at home. Only midwives and my husband were present.
-
I was an independent homeschooling mother, who stood up to the virtual learning reality of small children for two and a half years during the pandemic.
-
Once upon a time, I used to study and practise interior design in my old life before discovering Yoga and Ayurveda.
-
Put myself through college working as a lifeguard. I love water!
-
In my first ever job, and many subsequent ones, my computer-generated login was AWOL - for the first letter of my name and three first in my surname. Agnieszka Wolczynska. As I learned later, AWOL is a military term for 'absent without leave' and is used where one disappears and is not where one is supposed to be. Funnily enough, this is also my forte! It became my Instagram name, but it is also short for Alternative Way of Life - my thing!
-
I would hope to remain a student of Yoga and Ayurveda forever. Never done growing and learning.
-
There is no TV in my house.
-
I love psychology and am a well-functioning PTSD survivor.
